When Sephora immigrated to Canada in 2022, it was not by choice but by necessity. She arrived in British Columbia with her husband and their young daughter, Yolanda, after her employer of 7 years offered her a position at their Vancouver head office. It was an opportunity, but one that came with many challenges.

Last month, our team travelled from Yellowknife to Saskatoon, Regina to Vancouver, and throughout Toronto and the GTA to meet with Coordinators, Home Visitors and Parents enrolled in the At Home in Canada programs as part of our Story Project. With the help of the At Home in Canada programs offered by the YMCA of Greater Halifax/Dartmouth, Trixia and her family were able to settle in their new country while getting their daughter ready for school.
